The greatest miracle granted by Allah (SWT) to our beloved Prophet (SAW) is the Holy Quran. It is a guarantee from Allah (SWT) that the Holy Quran will be preserved in its exact format from its revelation to the end of time. So, in today’s world of technology and science, should a catastrophic event of global proportions occur that all records known to man, digital or otherwise, gets wiped away, the Holy Quran will survive unaltered as long as a Hafiz of the Quran survives the calamity. In other words, enrolling our children in a Hifz program to memorize the whole of the Quran is the method chosen by Allah (SWT) of preserving the miracle of the Quran.
Turning our children into Huffaz is not an easy feat by any means. A lot of effort, resources, and dedication is needed not just by the one learning the Quran, but also by his/her parents. Mu’aadh al-Juhani narrates that the Prophet (SAW) said: ‘Whosoever recites the Quran and practices upon its injunctions, the reciter’s parents will be given a crown on the day of Qiyaamat. The brightness of that crown will be more intense than the brightness of the sun in your actual house.’
Keeping the needs of the community in mind, MSI established a full time Hifz program in 2006. Boys between the ages of 8 and 18 years are enrolled in the program throughout the year. The program is overseen by Brother Shabbir Hassan and the students are under the guidance of Maulana and Hafiz Adnaan Waseem and Hafiz Mukarram. A typical student graduates in 3 years. As of 2015, 31 students out of 131 have graduated as fully capable Huffaz. Currently around 20 more students are enrolled in the program.
School timings are from 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday. The monthly fees is $250. Financial assistance is available on a limited basis to those who would otherwise be unable to enroll their kids in the program.
